Tiny anvils in an HPHT machine squeeze down on the graphite as intense electricity zaps it. **Q: Can i mix this with thermal paste to decrease my cpu temp by a few degrees?** A: performance improvements gained from adding diamond based abrasive powder to CPU thermal paste would be negligible, at best. worst case is the possibility of the mix causing performance loss or premature failure of the thermal paste when mixed with another compound. in my opinion it is also not worth the risk of the abrasives causing any damage or wear to PC internals it comes in contact with, intentionally or accidentally. however, there is a usage case for this product in regards to PC component temperatures and performance. water blocks, heatsinks or anything with a mounting surface that one would consider using thermal paste on, can be hand lapped using these types of abrasive compounds for mirror smooth and flat finish. makes it a lot easier to put down as thin and smoooth layer of paste as you possibly can. **Q: WE make the lapping of silicide and tungsten carbide, carbon, all for mechanical seals. Is this good or do you recomend another diamond powder?** A: I'm not sure exactly what you are doing or if this helps, but I believe that this grade (4-8 micron) of diamond powder will produce a uniform fine "frosted" look to glass. Recently acquired a second hand Fallkniven A1 with some unfortunate scratches on it, which buffed out beautifully and more quickly than I expected. Diamond cuts fast and the super fine particles bring up a brilliant shine. Handling the material is a little tricky, being so fine. A wooden coffee stirrer works to dip it out of the wee baggie. A few drops of isopropyl alcohol help distribute the powder. Takes very little to cover the strop.
