There are six components to each snake. Each comes with a brass weighted tip attached to about 24” of paracord which is then stitched in the barrel snake fabric which is also about 24" in length. The fabric thickness and width changes for each caliber. The other four segments are a cleaner section, a brush section, a drying section and finally an oil section. You can find numerous videos online to instruct you on the proper techniques and products to use for this process.ConclusionI love the simplicity of the barrel snake system and design. They are relatively inexpensive so you can buy one for each caliber of firearm you have. I like the fact that you can clean the snakes to keep them in good condition for your next use (recommend placing them in a tight laundry sack for delicates before placing them in the washing machine).
