Review: This by far gives me the best layered black and tan ever - This by far gives me the best layered black and tan ever. I got pretty good simply pouring down the side of the glass, but the boundary line between the Guinness on top and the lager (or Pilsner, or whatever) on the bottom was not as clear as I wanted. I've also tried various spoon techniques, including the Guinness bent spoon; these were improvements, but still not as good as this layering tool, which makes it *much* better. I read in one of these reviews that if you put the bottom beer in the freezer for a while, it would work better. I guess that's because doing so would increase the specific gravity of the beer. So, I put a bottle if Guinness American Lager in the freezer for a few minutes. I also the can of Guinness stout (with the widget!) out to warm up a bit, following the same principle. Most Americans drink their beer too cold anyway, which numbs the taste buds, so this gave a good effect. I did this and the layering was just about as good as could possibly be achieved. You do have to pour the Guinness slowly, and it's a good idea to start doing so it while the stout is still a bit frothy. Plus, if there's a bit of a head on the bottom beer, that seems to break the fall of the stout and retard the mixing. I've never seen a sharper demarcation line in the most authentic Irish pub. Excellent tool, and I recommend it to everyone with no hesitation whatsoever!

**Q: I have a glass with interior diameter of 70mm & exterior diameter of 74mm (the width of the glass side wall is 2mm on each side) will it work? thanks!**
A: I measured across, and I have it as 3.75 inches, which I think is 95.25 mm or 9.5 cm.  I just placed it on a few pint glasses with different width tops and it fit all of them with room to spare. The lip which says "the perfect black n tan" around it is almost 1.5 cm, giving it room for the different sized glass tops. I hope this helps

**Q: How Tall Is It?**
A: The pourer fits over a 16 ounce pint glass.  It's less than a 1/2 inch deep.  It pours perfectly so that your black sits on the tan and looks like it does in the pint glass shown.

**Q: What material is it made of?**
A: It is made from food-grade stainless steel. Cleans easily.

**Q: does this work with a clear Solo plastic cup with an outside diamer of 3.75 inches?**
A: The diameter of the tool is 3.75" so it probably will not sit properly on the solo cup. As an alternative, the tool could be held over the cup when pouring the top layer beer.

This by far gives me the best layered black and tan ever.
