Great bells
I purchased this leather strap sleigh bell to train my golden to tell me when she wanted to go out. The strap is leather and the bells are metal. She took to nudging them with her nose quickly and they chime wonderfully. The bells chime loud enough for me to hear them several rooms away from my backdoor, where they are hanging. These have been a wonderful tool! I would purchase them again, if I need to.

Great sound, well made
Purchased so my dogs can ring it when they need to go outside to potty. Works great! Has a nice sound, loud enough I can hear it anywhere in my house! Doesn’t have a hollow tinny sound like others. These are truly sleigh bells. They should stand up to wear and tear too, the are well made. Did I mention one of my dogs is a 120lb Doberman?! If it can stand up to him it will stand up to anything!

Looks and sounds nice.
Using to train our puppy. Had been using a holiday bell hanging by a string of rubber bands. Looks so much nicer and the sound is more subtle. Also, when the pup hits it, it doesn't bang a metal bell against the door. It was a few dollars more but think it's worth it.

Now if my dog would only use it....
The customer service from Warner's Sporting (the vendor of this item) was superb. Fast shipping, xlnt communications, well packaged, and the Leather Strap Door Bell itself is well made, attractive and makes a lovely holiday sound :) On the down-side, my otherwise very intelligent dog, Juno, is afraid of the bells and absolutely will not touch them with his nose, paw or any other body part. I've been 100% unsuccessful in trying to teach him to use it. Instead, he continues to paw at the door frame to let me know he needs to go out. Communication has never been a problem for us, he's very bright and communicates all of his needs to us, so this isn't a tragedy, but a bit disappointing that he's not musically inclined. I'm enclosing a puppy picture of Juno -- he's a grown-up boy now :)

Impressive Product, Not-so Impressive Price
The strap is heavy duty and appears to be very well made. The only exception is the part that goes over your doorknob. While its made of leather, it is only a leather cord; not nearly as tough as the rest of the product. I suspect it will get replaced over years of use. The bells are big, high quality and loud; it will get your attention regardless where you are in your home. I bought the bigger version over the smaller version because of its length. I have one big dog and one small dog. I wanted both to be able to reach. I should have bought the smaller version. This is overkill.Length - 34 inches (including connecting strap, 27.5 inches without connecting strap)Width - one inch leather strap, but bells are 1.25 inches wide.Thickness - strap is 3/8th inch thick, bells add another 1.25 inches.

Bells not too loud
These were a requested gift for someone and she has voiced no disappointment with them.

Ring a ding ding
"So our mom put up these new bells on the door yesterday and ever since we can't help but ring them...all the time! ~I'm~ the big sister, I'ma whole 4 years old and never really liked the bells Ma had up before, my little sister liked them a lot. She's only 3, so maybe it's cause she's a kid or something. Anyways I don't know what it is about these new bells, whatever it is I don't know but they are the best ever!"Ok so seriously, my dogs have always had bells on the door and the small one might have used them 6 or 7 times a day to let me know they'd like to go outside. But NNOOOOOOO They have rang them about 20 times in the past 2 hours now. That is all I hear, ever. Even the big one has started ringing them which is odd for her! By the way the big one is 100lb+ American Bulldog and the small one is about 40 lbs of Red Nose. Not really sure what is different about these but both seem to love them. They do sound different than the others and I only got the 3 bell version, cause the other was not only a different brand but often would swing back and get caught and shut in the door. And well I'ma fan of leather so there's that too. Whatever kind of magic is on these is both awesome and irritating, the bells haunt me. But the fur kids like them and they work great and aren't annoying sounding at all...yet. The fur kids thank you, not sure how I feel about them yet, I'll try and update if it changes, but they're happy which makes me happy :)
