There is a much touted, laser-punched second filter; however, finely ground coffee gets lodged between the two filters where it is impossible for you to clean, thus clogging the filter and making it impossible for coffee to drip through. In the end, I took a set of pliers and steel cutters to rip off the fine mesh filter, so what I'm left with now is something I can use in my Chemex or in the stand it comes with, but I have to use a paper filter along with it.
