Can work as a replacement straw for Starbucks cups.
I got these as replacement straws for Starbucks cups. The build quality and material is excellent. The straws are flexible but firm, and hold their shape well. They are slightly too big for the hole in a Starbucks lid, but because they are flexible, they will fit if you push them in. This created a problem, however, as air has nowhere to escape from the cup, so you are fighting against a vacuum every time you drink! I fixed this by drilling two tiny holes in my plastic lid to allow air in. This works perfectly, but will be more of a challenge if you have a metal cup. The straws are about 2" too short to hit the bottom of a venti cup, but I don't mind this too much; I just take the lid off for that last bit. Overall an excellent product, I recommend it.

Reusable Drinking Straws: Significant Health Benefits
GreenPaxx's reusable drinking straws are consumer-friendly, comfortable to use, affordable, and worth the investment. My review gives my reasoning for purchasing the straws. If you wish to skip my preface (1) and would rather just read about the integrity of the product, please skip to point (2).(1) I decided to buy drinking straws because I noticed that I wasn't drinking enough water, or liquids in general, and I wanted to stay better hydrated on a day-to-day basis. Being a graduate student, I reevaluated my lifestyle and daily habits in order to increase my energy and productivity. Part of that reevaluation included exercise and diet. I noticed I was typically fatigued and sometimes realized that I had only had a couple of glasses of water that day.As part of a healthy diet, it is suggested that the average adult consume up to 8 glasses of water per day (64 ounces) (at least that is what I have learned throughout my years as an athlete and from my doctor parents). I wasn't anywhere close to that number, even when exercising. Additionally, I just moved to South Florida, where it is very hot, and I sweat a lot more than I used to. Furthermore, I went from working 10-hour-a-day shifts requiring me to power-walk 5-10 miles per day to sitting throughout most of the day and walking only a couple of miles, if that. One day, I was at a restaurant and realized that I was drinking a lot more water than usual as the waiter kept refilling my glass. I also realized that I love drinking ice-cold water, but that drinking ice-cold water was much easier through a straw. (It was a thirsty day for me.) I had figured out the answer to my problem. The next problem was figuring out where to buy straws... I went to a department store and found cheap plastic straws, but they weren't reusable and straws would soon become but another regular item on my grocery list. I didn't want that, so I searched online and found GreenPaxx's reusable drinking straws. They were exactly what I was looking for.(2) GreenPaxx's straws are consumer-friendly, comfortable to use, and affordable. Made out of BPA-free silicone, GreenPaxx's straws pose no threat. Further, they are comfortable and durable. They aren't destroyed like plastic straws when you chew on them, and they're soft on the mouth. Plus, GreenPaxx straws come in all sorts of fun colors for children. Otherwise, the blue or pink tip is subtle in nature, and the green may remind one of the product name or that they are BPA-free ("green" products). The straws come apart where the two colors join, and are easy to clean. Furthermore, the large bottom portion makes this straw perfect for drinking thicker refreshments such as smoothies. Finally, the GreenPaxx straws are affordable. I would rather pay just over $10 for a set of four amazing straws that I can reuse, for what seems to be an infinite amount of time, than continue to buy packs of cheap and uncomfortable straws made out of cheap plastic. For the healthy benefit of staying hydrated, I would highly recommend that everyone buy this product--for yourself, your significant other, your children, the whole family--it is important to stay hydrated, and GreenPaxx's straws offer a comfortable, affordable, and safe solution to that aim.

Not for Water Drinking
I was excited to get these straws after all the good reviews I read. I have to tell you that the only 2 things I ever drink are water and coffee. I carry a large insulated cup around with me, always filled with ice water. I am just a big water drinker. Don't drink carbonated drinks at all and quit drinking tea years ago. So you can see I needed these straws for my insulated cup of water. The positive:1.They were a little large to fit into the hole of my cup but because the straws are flexible I was able to squeeze them into the hole and still draw up my water without a problem.2. These seem very sturdy and of good quality and I expect that they will last a long time. Beats from having to constantly replace plastic straws. The negative:1. Not for drinking water. I say this because no matter what I have done to get rid of it I can't get rid of the funny taste of my water. I know it is the straws causing the funny taste because none of my plastic straws cause this taste when I use them. I even tried boiling some water on top of the stove with a few drops of Dawn added to the water--then removed the water to a cold burner and dropped the straws into it and let them soak until the soapy water had cooled. Then I rinsed them well. Still had that funny taste. I now can't stand to drink water when I use these straws so the straws are pretty useless to me when water is the only thing that I drink.Since most people on here use these straws for things like smoothies, there probably is not any kind of weird taste because of what the liquid is made of. So unless you drink nothing but water, then these straws are not for you. They may be OK for other type of drinks.

a great straw!
I really have been wanting re-usable straws since I started on a smoothie kick. I was using plastic ones and didn't want to keep throwing things out. However, I don't like the feeling of polycarbonate or metal or glass. All of which are usually straight and way to hard. I'd been looking for a silicone straw for a long time and am so glad I found these. First, the top part is already bent, and both parts are flexible. I was concerned a bit about how a 2 part straw might work or leak the vacuum that is required to suck up liquid but they click together and are great. Also, because they come apart, they are easy to wash with a straw brush to make sure both parts are clean. Haven't had them long enough yet to see how they do in a dishwasher. Lastly, I have a habit of chewing my straws -- this is why I wanted a flexible one. Silicone is great because it is thick enough and flexible enough to just bounce back to shape if I do chew on it a little without thinking. All in all, I LOVE it. And, 4 in a pack is great too so if you do lose a part, you have others. The only draw back, is that these are the size of a regular glass, so they aren't super long if you are wanting to use it in a large container. Not a big issue though.Update: They are (with the bend pressed flat) 9.25 inches. And, I just want to tell you how EASY they are to clean. I haven't even really needed to use a straw brush. You can rinse them out very easily, and I put them in my dishwasher by pulling the 2 parts apart and sticking them each on their own posts. They stay and get cleaned. Really do like 'em. And I've actually managed not to lose any of the parts!
