I put my phone on top of my car’s hood while I was loading gear into it, hopped in, and drove down the road. About five minutes into my drive, I decided to make a call, but when I did, my car’s hands-free call system told me there was no call list present, I knew something was amiss. I circled back toward my house, and scouring the road I saw it (barely, because the case and phone are black, and the road was asphalt). When I retrieved it, my heart sank when I saw the condition of the case. I thought for sure the phone was a goner. But, to my surprise, thanks to this exact case (and the toughness of the phone itself, I’m sure), the phone survived without a scratch. The case was totally wrecked, however, so I bought another one exactly like the old one. I did modify it, however, by adding a lanyard. To do that, I used a commercially available phone lanyard, drilled 2 tiny holes in the side of the case, and threaded the lanyard attachment cable through it. Now, if my hands are full, I can loop the lanyard on my wrist, rather than doing the stupid car hood thing. So far, no problems with the case holding up under the added strain on the side caused by holding the phone by the lanyard.
