As the guide under which the paper is placed is transparent, it is very easy to see exactly where to cut or score. There is a swing-out ruler on one side that can be used when working with paper formats larger than 6 inches. The board can be used with the ruler extended out or closed. The swing out ruler also has a raised border on top so that the paper is placed perfectly and your project won’t move. A convenient tool for making cards, paper embellishments, scrapbook pages, boxes, wedding decorations and more! The compact board is small enough to store away easily or bring along but can also be used for larger projects thanks to the extendable ruler. The board comes with a cutting blade and a scoring blade. These are also sold separately so can be replaced if needed without having to buy a new board. IMHO, this is the best paper cutter/scorer on the market! I have tried three different brands and the cutting blades have not lasted as long as the Vaessen cutting blades have. Easy to use, very sturdy, and the inch/centimeter marks are much easier to read. Scorer makes a deeper impression that the other brands do and paper is easier to fold. Perfect for making the miniature book kits that I purchase online!
