The Energizing Hydrating Gel is a thinner milky gel type lotion. It has a pleasing texture that’s absorbed quickly and feels ultra light on my skin with no oily or greasy feeling. It adds noticeable hydration and leaves my skin soft with a matte finish and no sticky residue. The Energizing Hydrating Gel has a moderately strong masculine fragrance that smells like the Acumen 24Hour Hand & Body Hydrator, but it doesn’t seem quite as potent (maybe because so little is needed). I haven’t had an issue despite my sensitive skin and allergies. But I selected this with my 20-year-old son in mind and am cautiously holding off having him try it as his asthma and allergies are bad right now. This gel is alcohol free and has antioxidants, niacinamide and Ascorbyl Glucoside for brightening, panthenol and sodium hyaluronate for healing and hydration and more. Most ingredients look good, and the few that rate poorly are common: chemical fragrance is a respiratory irritant, exacerbates asthma and causes dermatitis; linalool is an allergen; and the preservative phenoxyethanol has allergy and toxicity issues.
