For the EPS thickness, it doesn’t mean the thicker the better or the thinner the better. It’s been perfect. We call it his hat and right out of the box he’s been good with using it. There’s good padding and it’s light weight to keep it comfortable. There’s enough air flow so he’s not sweating. The helmet is really sturdy and in the event he does fall, his head definitely be protected. He’ll be able to wear this in the spring when bike riding as well. This is definitely a win win for our family.
