Her initial delight at the gift soon turned to disappointment. The chocolates had leaked inside the plastic bag. There was no liqueur inside of the chocolates which had "white bloom" on them suggesting that they were old, the sell by date on the tin was July 25, this date was just on a sticker at the bottom of the tin. I have seen the mixed reviews on this product and it seems to be the luck of the draw whether you receive "fresh" chocolates or old ones that are near (or even past) their sell by date. The manufacturers really should not be allowed to sell these, especially as they are luxury items which are usually bought as gifts. Had I not been with my Sister when she opened them I may not have known how bad they were. I wonder how many of these have been given as gifts and nothing has been said by the recipient.
