I find that it help to prevent oil from spiitting all over the place and being closed it also helps food to cook quickly.The quality of the item is good, it does exactly what it is meant to do. I have had it for quite some time and it has held up very well. It does get scratched on the outside but too badly and it's a pan for cooking, so the outside really doesn't bother me.I've also used it on camping stoves where it really helps things to cook as I find that they're usually a little under powered heat wise.A handy little pan which you can use for frying, sandwich toasting, heating beans and even reheating things like pizza. Also you can put a pan on top of it like you do when using the 2 or 3 tiered pans so you get more room on that camping hob. We've used it in the house too as it prevent the fluids spitting all over the hob making it easier to keep it clean.
