I *THOUGHT* my battery was dead, but it turned out to be my motherboard. Dell has this awesome feature where your laptop is unusable if the battery is toast - even if you are plugged in to AC power. I had no choice but to buy a battery to see if it would power up. I went cheap because I do not need to be portable - I just needed the laptop to see a battery. I gave four stars because the packaging was good and shipping was fast. I was also glad to see that the seller did not try to pass it off as a genuine dell battery, a lot of sellers do.
