Review: Great support with limited longevity - These wired ice grips have been fantastic on my Altberg walking boots in the snow and solid ice. I have walked ten miles a day on roads and pavements, on the flat, up hill and down hill with no slip issues. However after four days on these terrains, approx 40 miles, the rubbers have worn and wires have dislodged, which is what you’d expect walking on the local streets and roads. For the £8 I paid and to allow me to cover the mileage I have in one piece without slipping I think is excellent value. Spikes are more expensive and greater valve, but are not suited to street and road ice walking, where the levels of snow and ice vary.

**Q: Spikes surely ruin carpet and wood floors**
A: Literally listed as ‘Anti-Slip Shoes Ice Gripper’ so either take your shoes off... or turn up your heating if it’s that cold that you have Icey carpets and wood floors... give me strength!!!

A: wouldn`t recommend buying these as I left feedback some months ago. YakTrak are by far the best.

Not sure about hand luggage on plane but if you dont need them during flight then put in hold baggage?

A: Well, I got them to stop me from slipping on black ice and light snow… but I imagine that they will be ok for mud as long as it isn’t too deep. But they are such good value I suggest you simply buy a set or two and try them out

A: your shoes fit inside the grippers they are very good and I find I have a lot more confidence going out on the ice using them, would recommend them. fit shoe size 5 to 10

I bought these due to snow here in Scotland this week. I wanted to be able to take my dog out. Roads and pavements don't get gritted here so we had snow, which iced over, then more snow. Today it was minus 4 when we went out. These boot grips were absolutely brilliant. I felt so confident, at 70 years of age, walking on undulating icy and snowy ground. They were easy to put on my boots and will fit any shoe. So glad I got them. They were recommended by a Canadian friend so that sold them to me. If you are thinking about them. Get them. They give you your freedom in horrible icy cold spells and enable you to take the dog for a walk. Snow???? Pffft
