It had no defects in terms of workmanship and looks nice. I am 5'10" 160lbs and a medium was a perfect fit. Without layering, I would think that this coat would keep you warm into the low 30's. Lower than that and you would probably need to layer or buy something heavier. I am not particularly fond of double zippers, the ones with two pull tabs so that you can unzip the coat from the bottom. Does anyone actually find that type of zipper to be advantageous? If the coat holds up this winter, I might actually replace the zipper with a high-quality single tab zipper.
