It is gentle enough for my face; I have not had any breakout. That said, I think my face feels better cleaned with a Konjac sponge. This brush leaves the skin suppler, which is a second-degree need. I have switched back to Konjac sponge for face cleaning while using this brush for face and body while taking a bath.
