It fits well, but I think it could be a bit tighter in the waist and hips. I worry that it would be too small in the shoulders, if I sized down, though. It should be fairly simple to make the alterations, as it is just a simple unlined knit garment.It is very cute. I like that it is a mid-weight knit material, so it is not overly clingy, it has a shape of its own, and it doesn't wrinkle. When I put it on right out of the bag, the fold lines were barely visible. It is a very cute style, and even though I am usually self-conscious about my big hips, this dress seems to make me look proportional. I don't usually wear a straight or mermaid style skirt. I also wore it with a pair of leggings and it looked fabulous, you couldn't see the waistline of the leggings under the dress. It washes and dries well. Could be an anomaly, as I haven't read any other reviews advising of this. Great item for the price. Fabric wasn't too sheer, but certainly not heavy.
