It also features a user-friendly and intuitive interface, allowing users to easily manage and monitor the entire system.

Review: Easy install and set up. Works well, no problems. - Bought this to replace a very old UPS that died. Needed to power a desktop PC, NAS and associated bits and pieces. Seems like a very competent piece of kit. Currently using about 10% of available power, which gives me an estimated 60 minutes or so run time if the AC power fails. The UPS has 6 backed up power sockets, 2 x UK 13A sockets and 4 for IEC C13 leads. Power to these is surge protected against mains spikes, and changeover is instant if the mains fails or falls outside voltage and frequency parameters that you can alter to be more or less strict. It is a pure sine wave unit, which should ensure that the powered equipment won't be affected when running on battery. During normal running once the batteries are charged the unit operates in passthrough mode, which basically just supplies mains to the outlets, so it is very efficient in normal use. The associated Powerpanel personal app lets you view and manage the parameters for the Cyberpower unit, and initiate a controlled shutdown of the device that it is connected to via USB. There is also a Powerpanel cloud function which lets you control the UPS from any device via the cloud but that is a chargeable extra. I have not investigated that. The unit has been in use for a couple of weeks now, with no problems detected. I have tested it by using its built-in self test, and also by simply unplugging the source mains to simulate a failure and all the connected kit continued working as if nothing had happened. It is a bit pricy compared to some UPS units but has a large capacity and is easy to set up and operate.
Review: It's a good buy but lead acid batteries reduce life-span - I bought 2 of these, one for my main PC+router+TV and another for my unRAID server, they work great and had them 2.5 years You can plug in the USB cable from the UPS into the unRAID server and it will automatically identify it and work out-of-the box, no software install required! In the unRAID OS settings you can then configure what % to shutdown the server safely etc I've had a few unexpected power cuts in my house lasting 10 minutes or so and this power backup handled it just as expected, zero downtime or interruption. Best way to avoid data corruption! When I have my annual electric inspection I let the guy just flip the main breaker without worrying about turning off my PC or server One of the devices is at the bottom of my bed and it's silent. Very rarely it will do some clicking noise for a few seconds but that's just a part of it's operation and not an issue The only downside is that it uses lead acid batteries which are recommended to replace after 3-5 years due to reduced charge Excluding age, lead acid batteries will get 200-500 cycles on average before becoming an issue, where as Li-ion is 1k-2k, LiFePO₄ 2k-5k So for my next UPS I will look for LiFePO₄ as the lifecyle is 8-12 years vs 3-5y lead acid or I might try and retrofit LiFePO₄ batteries into this UPS when the time comes

## Questions & Answers

**Q: On the back, there are two ports, battery and surge... Would plugging my PC into the battery port not protect me from surge spikes?**
A: On mine, the 1500 VA, I believe all ports are both power and surge

**Q: I'm looking for a ups to run a boiler, laptop + lamp for 4 hours if we have power cuts in the uk. what would you advise?**
A: For a boiler, I wouldn't recommend a UPS. Most boilers are hardwired and youd need an electrician to come out to deal with that. If you're concerned about power outages and can afford, I'd look at an ECOflow system that can be hardwired into your house and used as a backup power solution. Failing that, a portable backup pack like the the Anker powerhouse or a jackery power pack would be a better choice (though probably not for the boiler still). You can also use additional solar panels to charge the pack if you suffer extended power loss. Though this device wouldn't be suitable for keeping a fridge/freezer running. (Tip: don't open the fridge freezer unless vital, and it will stay cool a lot longer that way)

**Q: power cost per year? uk on average. genuinely have no idea about running costs - none given**
A: For the UPS, on its own, very low as you are only running the internal control circuits and little battery topping up.
You will need to work out your own system power consumption and costs

**Q: Is this noiseless when not actually on during a power cut? Don't mind smallhum when it's clicked in, but can't work with noise on a day-to-day basis.**
A: It is to all intents and purposes silent whe not supplying power during a power outage.
when supplying power it has a cooling fan funning and also an audible alarm that can be switched off.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Newer product supplied! Great!
*by S***K on 11 April 2026*

What was delivered was the newer CP1600EPFCLCDUK. This is a newer product. Works great alongside the other 1500VA models I have. Only snag is the buttons are in a different position on the front panel.
