Before Becky knows it, she's whirled into the fake world of celebrity and she's not quite sure how she feels about it as it starts to affect her relationships with those around her, including poor little Minnie. Just kidding, Minnie's always a little trooper.Meanwhile, Becky invites Suze, Tarquin and the kids to LA for a much needed vacation that quickly goes awry. After all, what could POSSIBLY go wrong with the world's most down-to-earth Lady and the weirdest (maybe) Lord shuttle off to LA for a not-so-quick vaca. ANYTHING. Definitely the unexpected that's for sure.And last but not least, catching up where we left off at the last book, Becky and her Scooby gang is in an RV ("very American) riding through the United States in search of her father and Tarquin who are on a top secret mission that driven Suze and Becky's mom Jane quite batty. Will they survive? Will Becky ever overcome her desire to buy everything and then one more of EVERYTHING?This book had me laughing at every turn but what caught me most unexpected was the really broken down Becky at some points in the book. I'm used to the books being lighthearted and perhaps they got a bit too lighthearted for me a while back. This book (I'm not sure if it's the final one or if the series continues) really puts things back on track with all the good characters showing up for posterity and even arch-nemisis Alicia B@tch Long Legs rounding out the crew. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars It was light and fun *by C***P on Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2019* I hesitated buying this after reading the not so great reviews, but am glad that I did in the end. Sure, it was a little haphazard and crazy at times, but so is Becky. I actually liked the crazy twists and turns of the story and how it was all wrapped up in the end. Not to mention the fact that fictional writing is for entertainment and this was truly entertaining. I had purchased Shopaholic to the Stars and finished that and got right into this one to continue the story. I really enjoyed this entire series. It was light and fun, just what life needs sometimes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars BECKY'S GROWING UP *by D***O on Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2020* As with _Shopaholic to the Stars_, I disagree with some of the reviews of this book. Yes, it's different than earlier books in the series. It isn't really funny. But Bex had a serious epiphany at the end of _To the Stars_. She realizes that when dreams of walking down the red carpet and knowing the A-listers come true, all she's left with is emptiness, loneliness, and guilt. She realizes that what she really needs, what will really make her happy, is what she already has -- the love of her family and closest friends.If in _To the Rescue_ Bex had immediately returned to being the funny girl focused on style that she had been, the character would have truly been very shallow. Sure, Becky has always like fun material things, and she gets carried away. But in each novel, she demonstrates that she's really a very caring person who wants to help those around her. Considering that the events in _To the Rescue_ occur beginning the day after _To the Stars_, we should have expected that Becky would struggle with what she learned about herself.One thing I really like about this installment in the series is that Suze and Tarkie are more fleshed out. For once, it's Suze's life that is in a mess, and watching how she deals with her fears makes her a much more interesting character. Tarkie goes through some wonderful changes, and by the end of the novel, he is so much more than that funny looking wimpy guy Suze married.Also, Danny has more of a role in this novel, and he's always fun to watch. Even Sweetie Smeathy plays a part.By Christmas, of course, at least several months will have passed since these events. Maybe Becky will go back to being a little more as we've known her in the next installment, and maybe the book will be funnier. But it would have been jarring and untrue to the character's basic nature if she had shrugged off the effects of the epiphany in _To the Stars_ so quickly.I have to ask again, why haven't any of Kinsella's novels been made into films? Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones books have resulted in successful films, and I think many of Kinsella's novels -- including this series -- would be wonderful on the screen. Come on, Hollywood.
