The Venus fly trap is a carnivorous bug eating plant. The botanical name for this plant is dionaea muscipula. This variety can grow up to 1 inch traps that blush red when given plenty of bright light. These plants give off a nectar that attracts bugs to become its meal. Children are fascinated by these plants. They like to be kept moist with distilled water or purified water and bright light. You will receive one potted Venus fly trap with sphagnum peat moss in a 2" pot. The plant you will receive will be similar to the one in the picture. All my plants are grown in our nursery in Puerto Rico and are very healthy. You will receive a detailed care sheet.

Plant arrived and didn't look good. I waited for several days and it didn't improve so I requewted a return. Seller said the item was fine that it needed some sun and water. The item has been sitting in a morning room full of sun for days and it is sitting in a saucer of water. Seller has no idea what he is talking about and just doesn't want to give a refund.

An amazing plant on my windowsill to get all the flies
I have a few plants from different vendors. This little guy came wrapped in bubble wrap about a month ago. He’s still in shock I think and he’s not trapping much. I live in the country, and we have lots of flies. I usually have to stun them with a flyswatter and feed him and he closes the trap very slowly. My others are champs, and I have very few problems with them-all delivered with a clear plastic cup over them.

Wellsir, it's hard to get a good plant through the mail
My tiny plant arrived a little worse for wear. Many heads were dead (brown or black) and the rest are juvenile. The whole plant was kinda mushed. <picture an over zealous child at Christmas trying to decipher what's in the box> It has been several weeks since arrival, and it doesn't look like the little guy will be recovering from the trauma. It was a nice idea. I'd love to have a little fly trap, but this sure didn't work.

It was great for a little over two weeks
We were so happy when it arrived. It didn’t help get rid of the gnat problem but it only lasted about two weeks. We gave it plenty of sunlight and not too much rainwater.Only rainwater.Dead.

Arrived Mostly Dead
Plant was much much smaller than pictured. It was packaged very well but it arrived mostly yellow and with one stalk rotted to brown mush. I was hopeful that it could be saved but it died within 5 days of arriving even though it was provided with optimal growing conditions (this is not my first venus fly trap). The seller admitted that it took longer than usual to arrive but still refused to send a new one or refund the price. I would avoid purchasing for here.

It died.
I've had VFT before. I advised this company that much of it was dead when I received it. After sticking it outside it fully died after a week

Pathetic
I ordered this as a gift for a friend and could not give it to her. This plant was embarrassing! I cannot believe a company would allow this to get shipped! Barely 2 inches tall and on deaths door. Looks like some in the plant actually died. Shame on them!
