Review: It worked - I have no idea how the original one burned out in the first place, given that it's a switch and not a fuse, but it did, and my dishwasher ceased to function. I bypassed the switch and it magically started working again, including stopping when the door opened, which was odd. So it appeared that the switch wasn't even needed! But I figured they had it for a reason, so I got this one, and it worked just fine.

I guess we can blame Whirlpool bad designers for putting them there. They will break and the dishwasher completely died until you replace them. Mine use two of these little things and I've replaced both of them twice already.
