However, don't expect to be able it fit this straight onto your Strat; some shoe-horning will be required. The holes in the pickguard won't line up with the existing holes in the body, so you'll need to pilot new ones. I also found the two screws on the humbucker too long for the pickguard to sit flat on the body, therefore I had to take these down slightly. Three wires will also need soldering. Had mine about 1 year and one of the pickups is not working anymore. I don't recommend this. **Q: Would this fit a squire strat?** A: Yes it will… but, it will not be a perfect fit and you will most probably have to make some slight adjustments. Not all of the fixing screw-holes will line up (re-drilling required) and you may have to make some adjustments (filing) at the neck and bridge ends. Try to do the replacement with strings on so you can dry-fit and check alignment before fixing it in place. If you’re going to restring, also consider replacing the “gull wing” trees with rollers, install roller saddles and locking tuners. Others will have differing opinions, but it works well on my Squier Strat. There are some good tutorials on YouTube dealing with Squier mod’s.
