They don't hold 50lbs though. They hold about 30lbs. See my picture where I used a hanging weight scale and they pulled off around 31lbs. They were attached to a thick metal I-Beam in my basement so that should have been more than sufficient to give the magnets a solid foundation. I've attached a pic of the I-Beam as well.
