Its like matching game in the sense that the kids move according to the dice...simple i my opinion...as a party game? When we opened and put it out I was thinking oh that's it. But my kids actually love it. The game itself will be better for a 4-5yo or older (which it probably is for anyways) just bc my two don't have the attention span to take on a full game. I also bought the Melissa and Doug fishing game and we just lay the fish on the mat to this croc hop game and they go fishing. They pull it out almost everyday to play fishing.
