I have worked them hard and they simply get the job done removing loose paint, debris, and rust. Two of the three are smooth, one of them seems to be a bit less balanced than the others, but it also has seen a fair amount of use so that's probably normal. Just keep in mind that these will put a hurting on your grinders, so I tend to work for 10 or so minutes, and then swap to a different grinder to let the first cool down.
