Is it as efficient on animals with a short fur length?** A: I have three cats. One is long haired, one is short haired, and one is VERY short haired. For the long-haired cat, this works well. My short-haired cats, it works less well, but did do a decent job at getting some mats out of the standard short haired cat. The very short haired cat, this doesn't do much for, it's more productive just to brush her. **Q: Do you use this for daily combing or only when there's matting?** A: I prefer to use a comb with tines much closer together for the daily grooming of my cats and use this tool when mats are present. **Q: Has anyone used this on a dog that has an undercoat? I have a long haired border collie.** A: We used this on our dog and it was awesome. She is her own type of dog mixed with Rottweiler, Australian shepherd and poodle and this solved our problems.
