They are "kid" sized. **Q: Do you have to build the net?** A: No building, it folds down for storage and out for use. Just push little pins to open it up and lock in place. We have had tons of fun with this set. **Q: What age child would this be for? My son is in middle school would this be too small** A: This is the perfect size for myself and my 7 year old son, however the net did not last much more than 3 uses before the latch on the bottom post broke on both sides. Also, should be noted that the sticks flex a lot, not the strongest plastic.
