I'd use this product again! Review: Worth the money - We had a customer who bought a fiberglass free standing tub. When we opened it, the tub came with flexible tube that connected to the tub. I did not want to depend on a slip compression joint to hold back any water. So I bought this hoping it would make my life easier. Install was easy. Breaking the tab to get to drain was a little nerve wracking. I had read a lot of reviews that said it broke off, couldn't remove, damaged gasket. I took my time. I used lineman pliers to get it out. I just went slow and wiggled for about 1 minute and it snapped right out. I did have a few little pieces aroind the edge that I thought could damage the gasket. I took my utility knife and just scraped those off. Put the included drain tail piece on the tub, put the plumbers grease on the pipe and slid the tub down. It worked great! Totally worth the money if you cannot access the plumbing from below. I can’t remember the exact measurement but it’s somewhere around 10 inches. **Q: Will this work with 2” abs p-trap? States 1-1/2”/2” respectively in description, but want to be certain** A: I used a 2” abs p-trap. No issues there. The hard part came when I selected a tub drain, which came with a perfect reducer for the threaded brass tail pipe ( as shown in picture). The reducer was plastic, and I wanted brass. The tub drain manufacturer would not replace nor sell me a brass replacement, so I ordered one from a third party. The ITD35 was easy to install, and suits my needs perfectly. Just be careful choosing a tub drain. **Q: If I am laying cement board in between the plywood floor and tiles, do I screw the rough in to the plywood or the cement board?** A: I believe the directions with the product say to screw the rough in to the plywood. Mine is on the plywood, found that flat roofing nails caused less issues with the cement board layer than screws. **Q: If the p-trap gets backed up, will the seal prevent leakage? I am nervous of the slip in connection and a few years worth of time.** A: Good afternoon, that is a valid question, although should be directed toward the manufacture. Most issues in a tub are due to hair clogs and generally are limited to the strainer in the tub, not the ptrap. You should recognize the symptoms of a pending clog well in advance of a backup. . You should never get to this point, having two daughters with princess hair forces me to be proactive and remove the hair buildup.
