## Description

The Schmincke Horadam Aquarell Half-Pan Paint Metal Set features superior quality, natural ingredients are carefully selected each year for every formula for highest optimization. These traditional formulas since 1881 are the same in pans and tubes and are used by classic artists like Emil Nolde and Oskar Kokoschka. An optimal amount of Oxgall enables the artist to decide (and not the paint!) as to where the paint should flow moist or stay dry on the paper. 24 colors included in set. Made in Germany.

The mixing area opens at an angle so might prop up or if hold in your hand to paint would keep it better aligned. Comes with swatch card. Paints highly pigmented. It's quite expensive at over $80 USdollars. Try to always buy the best quality paint products you can. It really does make a difference, Same for paper.

I like This paint for so many reasons, but briefly, I love that you can paint thick and bold, or translucent and dreamy and all sorts of inbetween and have stable consistent lasting color. If you like to paint on trips, vacations, or visits to the park, you will have every color you need and several convenience colors to paint with, including flesh tones. The palette tin is the same as the Sennelier tin of 48 paints. I sand down the sharp edges with sand paper, and I don't rely on the clips to hold the paints in. I add magnets to the bottoms of the pans. I write the color name and brand name on the pans in black sharpie. This way I can use my favorite paints in a smaller tin if I have need of a smaller palette. Adding magnets does add some weight to the palette. Overall, this paint is worth the cost. A little really does go a long way. If you buy it use it, don't treat it precious and be afraid to have fun with it. The only wasted art tool is one that is not used and life is just too short to have things that bring you joy and not use them.

Excellent company. Metal case with one mixing area. I placed 4 empty pans I had on hand and placed in the middle row and will fill with artist grade paint. The water reservoir design is unique. The mixing area opens at an angle so might prop up or if hold in your hand to paint would keep it better aligned. Comes with swatch card. Paints highly pigmented. It's quite expensive at over $80 USdollars. Try to always buy the best quality paint products you can. It really does make a difference, Same for paper.

What can I say? This was a great way to be introduced to the Schmincke watercolor line! The palette, which was crafted in Italy, cost at least $80 without any paints at all. Therefore, for me, it was as if I received 8 half pans Schmincke watercolors for free! I've yet to fill it with water; but I have used the paints and the palette to mix the colors. I thought that it was a lovely entry point price wise, quality wise, and beauty and purity of the chosen colors. Schmincke watercolors are clean, exquisite, and delicate. You would be surprised at all of the color combinations that can be coaxed out of the 8 pans. I've used this palette and paints quite frequently, and have also added an additional two palettes and 22 more Schmincke colors to my collection.
