It’s not a ton of protection, but that’s just danish oil, not this one in particular. I wish I could get a scented candle that smelled like this stuff; the smell of this stuff drying is now one of my happy places. It is slightly thinner than maple syrup.

I ordered this as a substitute for Minwax’s Antique Oil for the furniture I design. While dining at my favorite restaurant, I overheard the owners discussing how their stake knives needed to be refurbished, so I grabbed five to take home to test out this Danish Oil. After sanding the handles to a 600-grit, smooth finish, I applied three coats as suggested. With a 5000-grit polish of the blade, the knives look brand new. I’ll be incorporating this product into my designs’ finishes.
