Has consistency similar to Philly after its gotten firm in the fridge. Pleasant fragrance. Does not taste good on bagels, but could work in a pinch on graham crackers. Holds hair better than Philly has a matte finish, meaning you can eat your bagel without looking like a hipster. Everyone wins. **Q: Can anyone compare this to Hanz De Fuko's Claymation and Bed Head's Matte Separation Wax?** A: I find Baxter Clay Pomade to be a bit heavy and greasy on my hair. I have short blond hair. I think contains petroleum jelly/petrolatum (thus the greasy feel). De Fuko is OK but is kinda hard to work with. I think Bed head separation wax is best for me. I spike my hair a lot. **Q: can someone compare this to bedheads matte separation wax? especially in terms of the hold** A: Ive found this to have significantly better hold than separation wax, and can be restyled throughout the day easier than the bedhead product. The smell of baxter clay pomade is an earthy/hint of citrus smell while the separation wax doesn't really have a noticeable scent.
