We have tried various mattress protectors over the years with different degrees of success. For our purposes we were looking for a cover that would fit snugly, not have a crinkly plastic feel or sound, wash & dry easily, and was affordable. This product more than exceeded our expectations.Pros:- There is elastic all the way around the cover so that it fits the mattress snugly on all sides.- There isn't a thick vinyl layer with this cover so it is soft & quiet while still protecting the mattress.- I can wash this cover in hot or cold water and tumble dry on low.- The price was perfect for our budget.Cons:(As of now, I have not found any. However, I plan to update this review if that changes.)I am so pleased with this product. We also bought two in the twin mattress size for our older child. I plan to get more of these as our budget allows. I just wish we had found these sooner! I have read complaints that the inner liner makes noise when you are sleeping on it. I have found that this can be true but only under certain conditions which I will address below. Overall I find this an excellent product and would most certainly and probably will purchase again.First of all I would like to note that following the instructions given with an item are important. Many people tend to just ignore instructions then complain because the product didn't perform as they expected. There is really only one thing that it is recommend before using this item, WASH BEFORE USING, AIR DRY! Follow the washing instructions as given and I think you will be better satisfied with this product.First of all, washing removed the odor given off by the materials as there was a complaint about. Secondly, it softens the materials.When I first removed the protector it was smooth but slightly stiff. When I opened the protector I could hear the sound that some complained of. Following the instructions given, I washed the protector and air dried it. It came out soft and smooth. I then put it on my bed. I noticed as I positioned it on the mattress that once again I would on occasion hear the noise of the layers of materials rubbing together, however once properly fitted to the mattress there was no noise beyond that of a normal mattress pad.I put the sheets and blanket on and went to bed. I am used to using a filled protector so the bed felt a little stiffer, no fault of this protector. Only once did I hear a sound and that was when I pulled my body across the mattress causing the protector to bunch up. After using the protector for a few days it didn't even make noise when it bunched up, indicating that the mattress protector was getting softer with use.While I like the filled protectors, I am tired of having the pad filling outside the protector after washing and ending up with a clean piece of trash. If you still want to use a filled pad, would be to install it under this protector, thus keeping it clean and only having to wash the protector.I believe that if you follow the instructions, you will be as pleased with this product as I am.
