Works great. You need a complete HDMI 2.1 chain to do it. That starts with a GPU with a HDMI 2.1 port which can only be found on NVidia RTX 30-series and AMD Big Navi GPU's. GPU's with DP 1.4 can do 8K but the Q900 does not have a DP port to connect to, and don't bother trying to do a DP to HDMI adapter. I've found only one company has attempted to build a product that tried to go from DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 and they've mysteriously discontinued doing so. Next you'll need an HDMI cable rated at 48gbps, most HDMI cables are rated at 18gbps or lower. Keep it less than 6ft for maximum chance of stability. Plug it into port #4 on the One Connect box. It's the only one that can drive 8K. Go into the TV settings and enable HDMI Plus. Windows added support for HDR in 2017 Fall Creators Update, but it was buggy. Windows 10 seems to have ironed out the bugs. So as long as you have a Windows 10 you are fine. Next, download the Content Ready driver from Nvidia, not the Game Ready driver which is optimized for gaming. You need this to enable 10bits, billions of colors which is needed for HDR. Usually, this is reserved for Nvidia's Quadro series pro GPU's but Nvidia was kind enough to enable this with their high end RTX cards. Without this, you can still enable 8K but you just need to do it manually by going into the Nvidia control panel, setting up a custom resolution, and manually typing out an 8K profile. If you have everything as mentioned above though, the option for 8K should pop up as a native resolution in control panel. Go to Youtube and find an HDR video. You should now have twice as many resolution selections to view from, half in regular view (ie 480p, 720p, 1080p, etc, etc) and just as much but in HDR view (ie 480pHDR, 720pHDR, 1080pHDR, etc, etc). You should be all set at this point. You'll be able to do 8K@60hz or 4k@120hz. I like it at 4K as it already provides lots of real estate to work in while giving head room to let the GPU stretch it's legs when doing heavy crunching. I do film content creation so I usually have multiple creative apps open at same time and can easily be using 12-20GB of video ram just for my GUI alone to do smooth playback and scrubbing. So the 24GB in an RTX 3090 is a requirement if doing creative work. I've yet to max out 48GB of system ram and topped off about 20GB of GPU ram. **Q: My uhdtv 8 series 75" 2019 keeps turning off and on.** A: Same thing happened with mine. The tv was scrapped. The main board was toast. If the main board or sound board go, you can NOT replace either. You must replace both boards and the monitor (screen) because they all have to be synced together. The only TV manufacturer currently to allow you to install any apps via Google Play Store (like normal) is Sony. Do not learn this the hard way, this is a great disadvantage. On the other hand, Sony doesn't have HDMI 2.1! There are NO TVs with the specs and software necessary for ALL of today's top content in the US at least...I'm waiting. **Q: Does the 2019 version include the newest features that were introduced on 2019 4K models?
