My puppy Cody loves to ride in the car with me but it is getting more and more difficult because he wants to sit on my lap and then he moves around a lot. I didn't feel safe with him in the car. But this booster seat allows him to sit right by me in the passenger seat. The tether strap keeps him in the seat but is long enough where he can still move around, get comfortable, look at the window etc. If you are looking for a booster seat for safety in a major crash -- those tend to be rear facing like an infant seat -- I'm not sure this is the one for you as it really is just a soft dog bed that attaches to the seat and has a tether. But for me, it was exactly what I needed and I love it.
