The concern is the depth. I can only fit 7 1/2 inches from top to bottom of keyboard. **Q: I have a crossbar under my desk, so there is only about 10" from the edge to install something underneath. Will this work?** A: Hi Lauren,The brackets for mounting are just over 12'' apart, that means if you tried to install this unit, your cross bar would have to be no higher/lower than an inch to an inch a quarter (the bracket allows for a choice of height with a 1/4 in difference) that way you could mount one bracket on each side of the cross bar, and still have room to slide your key board out. It doesn't mount like the former/older style, but it has more stability because of its update. ( My husband mounted some extra pieces of wood under my desk in order for to install my unit. It made the mounting surface flush in order to be successful with installation.) Are all the tools needed in the box?** A: You will need you own screw driver, a pencil to mark your holes, and a drill if you like to pre-drill holes for you screws. For me, I always like to pre-drill holes for my screws because I don't want to risk any damage to my wood. You can instill this with only a screw driver if you don't have a drill. It will just take a bit more endurance because you will be in an awkward position installing your drawer.
