I could see the basket fitting perfectly in so many places around the house to provide extra storage and organization. This oval basket measures about 12 inches handle to handle, and 7-8 inches wide. It is 8 inches deep. Sizes may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of this item. Use it for: Magazines - holds about 20 (depending on thickness) in the upright position; DVDs or Games (playstation, Wii, Xbox, etc.) - holds about 12; Books; Toilet Tank Storage Box - holds 4 rolls of toilet paper and still has room for extras like lotion, hair products, a curling iron, a few magazines, and more; Newspapers; Bills or Mail (would hold a LOT); Diapers - holds about 30 size 4 diapers; Children’s Toys or Books - holds about 15 board books; Kitchen Storage - towels, dish clothes, potholders, etc.; Hats, Scarves, and Gloves; Dog Toys; Craft Supplies - scrapbooking, yarn, and more! This is not your average crocheted yarn basket. I use a super bulky chenille type yarn, so it has a really different look (you can’t really see the strands of yarn) and feel (it’s so soft!) from typical yarn baskets. This also allows the sides to be more rigid than most yarn baskets. The basket is still flexible, but it is firm enough to truly hold things and be functional as a storage basket. Machine wash and dry on the gentle cycle. Shown in Medium Grey and Dark Green, but there many choices, see the last photo for all the color options.
