I put it on one side of my dishwasher and stretched it about 2/3 of the way down from front to back of the dishwasher. I bought it to hold down about three plastic containers (sandwich size) and lids. I had been weighting down the lids and containers with my regular ceramic bowls so they would not float around during cleaning, but this is much neater and allows me to load up my dishwasher more sensibly.
