Compared to most new ones it is at least quite intuitive and reasonably ez to set. I needed the manual for initial setup and am keeping it, but likely will never need to open manual again - so overall good to set. Question aside - I really like this clock radio!! **Q: Does this get good radio reception? I've tried several different brands and all have been full of static and not clear.** A: Not great, not terrible in my opinion. I can tune the FM band to find stations, but I would never use this device to listen to music for extended periods of time. It's an alarm clock that allows you to wake to music as opposed to a loud buzz - it's really not designed for good quality listening. The speaker is very small.
