Those steps had rusted completely through from the inside out in less than four years. These steps seem to be made of better quality. They have a painted gloss finish. This design compliments the current Canyon/Colorado very well ands has a great look with this body design. The ends are welded, so hoping that these tubes won't be conducive to rusting from the inside out. Also, my last ones were flat, and these are rounded. Water on the old one tended to puddle on the surface, as this tubular one water will bead off. Again, hoping this helps to stop any paint/coating degradation. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fit right, good quality, quick installation, picked the right one! *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on August 3, 2019* Was a little hesitant to actually select a step bar. As I kept reading I wasn't sure I could trust the quality or even the reviews (one company was giving a $10 refund for 5 star amazon reviews). I chose the Westin because reviews were good and was a brand name. I absolutely made the right choice! (See the photos of the finished installation.) The second side went on in about 10 minutes once I knew what I was doing. Heeding other reviews I bought some washers (photo). The part that needs them is bolt #4 the M8 Hex cap screw (Yellow) that is used to secure the mount to the truck. In the photo you can see where I added my washer after the yellow lock washer and flat washer (both yellow). You'll need a flat screwdriver to pop off the plastic inserts, a socket wrench with a 13mm socket and extension, 10mm box end wrench and pliers (to secure the plastic bracket, I used only 1 bolt on each because that was the only hole that lined up). Important to tighten the mounting bolts (bracket to truck and bracket to bar see photos) only about 90% (just a little bit loose). This makes it easier to get the bar on the bracket and then level the bar. Finish tightening the mounting bolts to the truck. Then place a level on the bar pad and try to level as best you can before you finish tightening the bar to the bracket. Done! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2017 Canyon Crew Cab - Perfect fit! *by R***Y on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on April 2, 2022* Arrived fast and in good condition, easy to install on my 2017 GMC Canyon crew cab. The only installation tip I have is to attach the plastic covers before you attach the brackets. The brackets do have either a higher or lower set of holes - I went with the lower holes so there would not be a gap between the covers and the step bar. I really like that the ends of the step bar are closed to prevent moisture from getting inside.
