I ordered it for a hot summer landscaping job. It has worked quite well so far. The brim is nice and wide so that it can cover my neck and above (face, ears, etc). It also keeps me cooler than without a hat, because its like having your own personal shade around your head. I like the chin strap, but it isn't as comfortable if you wore it around your neck when you want the hat off. Due to the design of the weave, the hat has no holes and so it can get just a little sweaty. All in all though, this is a nice useful sun hat.
