It's an unusual shape at the grip and hilt, but I find it's very comfortable for slicing both loaves of bread and also tomatoes - I'm sure many other uses will come to light in time too. I was so impressed, because after seeing how beautifully and carefully packaged and presented this knife was, it dawned on me that it was from Dalstrong's lower end range (in terms of price). This purchase spurred me to try some of the Shogun Series knives too (awesome by the way, but a big step up in price), however, I can't believe there are many home cooks out there who would not be delighted with the quality look and feel of the Gladiator Series knives!
