Please explain?** A: From the photo I saw from a Purchaser, it looked like a very snug fit. While I have used a cover to transport my other kayak 14' it was possibly a bit thicker, Seal's brand. However, I intend if needed to use this cover for my Swifty 9.5 to travel. While in an extremely heavy downpour, it's possible the weight of the water could make the cover buckle inward and come off but I never had that happen with my other cover. As for it coming off while traveling, I just made sure to PUT YOUR TIE DOWN STRAP THROUGH THE FRONT LOOP HANDLE of the cockpit cover and if it should come off while traveling, you will not lose it! I have to transport my kayaks facing upwards because I use foam blocks on car installed roof racks. I never had any problem transporting my other 14' yak with a cover on it from up north to FL and back and yes it did see rain. (The tighter the fit, the water should just roll off.) Mostly it will be to keep critters out but I will use it to car top as needed. Ordering my cover now. **Q: I have a older swifty 3.1 any idea what size would fit correctly?** A: There have been several variations of the Swifty 9.5 since it's release. Size P13 for a cockpit measuring of 56 x 23 inches and P9 for a cockpit measuring 43.5 x 22 inches. Measuring the cockpit and then referencing the fit chart is recommended to guarantee a good fit. **Q: Does this fit a perception sound 9.5?** A: Yes. Size P13 fits the Perception Sound 9.5. **Q: Would this be good to protect my kayak during transport on top of my truck ?** A: I think so. I haven't used it for that myself but it fits very snug. I would be surprised if it didn't work well for transport protection.
