There are two small tabs on the underside that you press against and it will pop out. After cleaning you just snap it back into the slide slots in the top of the lid. **Q: will a tervis handle fit on this stainless steel tumbler?** A: I went on the website of TERVIS and found my answer. his is a great product. **Q: What is the diameter of the straw hole? Important to get a straw that will fit in the hole... Please give me an inch or mm measurement.** A: Well I’m not sure the measurement but a QT straw fits as well as a large diameter drink straw that I would use for milk shakes or margs and also my daughter’s silicone straw fits tightly but you can force it in there and it just barely puts an indent in it.
