The nominal voltage for the radio is 7.5 volts. this battery pack fits perfectly with alkaline batteries however I had some in mfj rechargeable double A batteries and they were too big for the compartment. So rechargeable batteries are too big possibly need to remove out the center plastic piece...I'm just going to use mine for alkaline batteries in an emergency, so this should be just fine...I am very happy with this purchase. I use an FBA-25 with NiMH cells, but most of them have too large a diameter to fit. There are some that have a diameter of 14.00mm that will fit. All alkaline cells will fit as they are 14.00mm or less in diameter. Of course you have to remove the AA NiMH cells and charge them in a suitable charger. **Q: Anyone try this on a ft-70dr? it says it fits the 60r, so was wondering.** A: Yaesu FT-60R and FT-70DR battery footprints are different, so a case or pack that fits one will not fit the other without some serious modification. **Q: In what country is this manufactred? Thanks** A: If it is a Yeasu part it is probably made in Japan, but not sure...I don't have to original packaging anymore. **Q: Does anyone know how long of talk time could be expected when using a set of alkaline batteries in Vertex or Icom handheld radios?** A: Easily a full day. This handheld has served me well over the years, but I’ve been on borrowed time relying on just one rechargeable pack. Now, I can switch in 6x AA batteries and keep on going. Recommend use of a one USA cent coin or something similar to undo the retainer clip...unless you’ve got strong nails! Other than that, excellent battery pack, fits well, no issues closing the cover.
