A: It doesn’t come with the mat. You have to purchase it separately. The mat is $30-35.

A: With a little assistance and a cutting mat for support... it shouldnt be a problem... Im sure she will love it

**Q: I bought this but I can't figure out how to make it cut or keep the blades out. Do I need other things to make it work?**
A: You have to twist the knob to lock the blade out.

**Q: Does it require the magnetic mat?  Can i use it without that item?  Or would it wiggle around on my desk?**
A: Hello. I have one of these and I never used a magnetic mat. you have to hold it firmly, and then you won't have any problems with it :)
