We've started on our second set in 2 years but couldn't be happier with them, we just replace them as the plastic eventually dries out from the oven heat and still have 3 in the cabinet waiting for the old ones to break. Whatever, they're plastic. You just need to open them briefly to change the gas level and then close them immediately (keeping them closed is the point, really) so you don't squish them in the oven door. **Q: Will this work to prevent animals from turning knobs?
