No humming sound! *by U***G on 10 July 2017* So far so good~ It's very quiet when turned on (in that it doesn't making humming noise that I hear from other cheaper converters I have). You can only hear a slight humming only if you press your ears to the device (and won't hear it even if it's like 1cm away!). Very quiet!!! It's fairly heavy, but the flat profile, means it takes a bit less space. It might be nice if they actually provided a vertical mode for it (I can't turn it on its side since it has ventilation holes on the sides). It has worked well with both a rice cooker we got from Korea as well as a Samsung ML-1640K laser printer we brought from Korea as well.
