Was a little disappointed in having to insert the two retaining clips myself - not a huge burden of a task, but the assembly didn't include any retaining washers for the back side of the clips. When one fell out on my way to install the lamp, the tiny spring bounced away and was lost. Fortunately, the clips from the old lamp also fit this one, and I was able to make it work.So go ahead and buy the lamp assembly, but be careful after you insert the retaining clips. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Picture quality is just like new again! *by B***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2012* Purchased this for my folks who have a Samsung DLP TV. They were contemplating purchasing a brand new TV until I told them they could simply replace the bulb for a fraction of the cost. Also, as far as picture quality goes, you'd be hard pressed to find a better picture than what some of these DLPs are capable of producing, particularly in terms of a image smoothness. You don't get all that pixelated jumping/artifacting you get with most LCDs on fast moving images. It's a shame they don't make DLPs anymore :(Anyhoot, the item shipped in packaging that was perfect it terms of protecting the bulb inside. The bulb/housing was a breeze to replace. I took a small back panel off the TV, took out the old bulb/housing and plugged this new one in its place. All and all took about 10-15 minutes time. So far, the new bulb works great and the folks now have a bright, beautiful TV picture that's as good as new.*Product was purchased through ProjectorNova**Update on 03/08/13**Bulb just died after less than 4 months of use! I was almost hoping it would have been something more serious, so I could justify getting a new tv, but it was the lamp.I followed the directions with the lamp assembly, opened the back of the TV, vaccuumed and blew out some of the dust bunnies, took out the old lamp (you have to turn the ring on the retention screw), popped the new one in, locked it in, turned on the TV, and it was good as new. Closed the tv back up, went to the menu and turned down the brightness (because the new lamp is BRIGHT) and the TV looks as amazing as it did the day we got it.Very easy for anyone to replace, completely effective, TV works 100%.
