Krylon Looking Glass Silver-Like Aerosol Spray Paint 6 Oz.

Review: I used this paint to refinish some tables I got for free at a thrift store. The glass tops were terribly scratched and needed some camouflage badly! I found a tutorial online that explained how to use this paint to obtain a 'mercury glass' finish. It was really easy! All you need is water, white vinegar, a spray bottle, and some paper towel. I painted the reverse side of my glass because durability is a factor in my home. Mix ½ water and ½ white vinegar in your spray bottle, and spritz your glass lightly until the water beads. You don't want it to be soaked, just lightly misted. Spray a healthy, even coat of Krylon Looking Glass paint over the vinegar/water mixture until your glass is completely coated. Wait about 5 minutes for the paint to become tacky. Spray a paper towel lightly with the vinegar/water mixture. LIGHTLY wipe the paper towel over the glass, taking care not to press too hard. The areas where the vinegar and water beaded up will come away clean, while the dry areas of the glass should still have paint attached. Allow the paint to finish drying. I love the way my 'mercury glass' looks! I ended up using a contrasting color (Krylon's 24k Gold) as a second coat after I wiped off the first layer, because I wanted to have some color showing through. I think this would be beautiful with any contrasting metallic color. If you spray lightly, the glass will maintain some translucency. It worked fantastically as camouflage for the scratches in the glass, you can't even see them anymore, even when you're looking for them. The finish gives a very 'glam' update to these shabby-chic tables. Great product!

**Q: I have an older mirror that is flaking. Is this a product that I can spray on the backside of my mirror to improve the look in a subtle manner, or will it be too obvious**
A: Do not sand down old mirrors. They were made using mercury which is highly toxic. Best to use an actual mirror spray. This is more for glass decor.

**Q: Would this spray work on resin/high gloss-finished surfaces. Ex: Paint directly on resin surface, then after paint dries, apply coat of resin on top?**
A: you can paint anything or spray any spray paint over resin.  And then re-epoxy when it is dried.

**Q: I need to reduce lumens of a light bulb without affecting color temperature?  Is it translucent?**
A: If you spray a traditional incandescent bulb with a reflective paint you will get a heat spike. It MAY or MAY NOT be a problem, depending on the bulb wattage, but a larger bulb can cook a plastic socket. This is a recognized problem with half-silvered incandescent bulbs.

**Q: What finish results would be spraying this over a chrome spray can finish**
A: I did my car tires. Came out very nice.. long shine.
