This is hands down the best hairspray I've ever used. I was introduced to it by a hair stylist when I was living in San Diego and have been using it faithfully ever since. The best things about it is a) it is called "This is an Extra Strong Hairspray" and that's exactly what it is - - extra strong. It holds my style like crazy, and somehow does this without making me look like I'm wearing a helmet. b) it doesn't flatten or straighten my curls. That is, it isn't heavy enough to do that. In fact, it's light. c) if I spray my hair on Monday, the style and curl is still there on Wednesday AFTER I brush it out. In other words, it actually helps to keep the curl and style and finally, although it may look expensive, the can somehow holds tons and tons of spray and lasts me for six-eight months, which mitigates the sticker shock you might be experiencing. That said -- and I'm sorry to have to say this -- I do NOT recommend buying it from the website directly. When I saw on the website that they're out of it or that it's unavailable I tried the "This is a Strong Hold Hairspray" and that was a huge mistake. But, contacting the website customer service did absolutely no good whatsoever! I wrote 3 emails and NEVER heard back from them. Not a word. So, even though they say they want to make you happy. Well, ha ha, they don't. I was thrilled to have found the product I wanted here on Amazon where they make returns easy peasy. Yes. It actually costs a little bit more on Amazon, but with Prime, the shipping is free so it all works out in the end. Bottom line, if you like a good hold on a big hair hairdo (which is what I like), and if you like a swingy hair style or you like your hair to appear thicker than it is, (tip: spray your hair brush and then brush your hair with it -- voila! swingy, thick, straight hair) then I can highly recommend this product. With that and it's long term ability to maintain the style it's a great buy even at twice the price. That's right. Twice the price. (Note: I had it taken by airport security when I forgot about it in my carryon -- "Oh, no!" I told the guy don't throw it out -- give it to your wife!" That's how good I think this hairspray is -- I would even recommend it to airport security!) Update: Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Something is definitely wrong with this can of hairspray. Either they've changed the formula or this simply is NOT the hairspray I have been buying even though it LOOKS like the same can. This hairspray is worthless. It doesn't hold at all let alone act like it gives "extra strong hold." I'm not buying it again. And I don't think you should either. Not if what you want is what it says on the can that it is because that's not what it is. It's a joke in a can. That's what it is.

I've used this strength of Davine's for 4 years. Something was not right with this can. Smelled VERY different and extremely strong. My husband noticed it immediately. We had to open windows. Can was also dented and a different shade of blue than other cans I have. I just opened this about two weeks ago and so I am beyond the return date. I contacted Davine's to ask questions. They said the product ingredients have not been changed. At $38 a can, I feel pretty irritated. May try calling Amazon yet...

Love this hairspray, loved the smell the most!!! However, this bottle I received didn’t have the great smell I loved! Not sure if it’s a new formula or what??

Unfortunately, my hairdresser recently changed the formula in his hairspray that I had used for years. I have tried numerous products in the last year without success. Since I live in an area with high numbers of Covid cases, I have not been able to get my hair foiled which adds thickness to my fine hair. I am so pleased that this product actually holds and thickens my unbleached hair without being sticky.

I've been on the hunt for a good pro hair spray that didn't make my hair feel dried out & has a strong hold. I love this because it does not make my hair feel dried out & smells really good. The thing I really like about this hairspray is on day 2 & 3+ I am able to brush my hair out & style it without it feeling gross. I would definitely buy this again but I am going to keep trying others until i can find one that has the same qualities just with a little stronger hold.
